Choosing a theme can be the hardest thing for a person to decide upon, because when it comes to talking about ourselves, we sometimes cannot find the right words. First, let us define what an “event theme” is?
An event theme is that which defines you and adds that extra touch to your wedding event that guests will remember. It can be compared to accessorizing your event and adding your personal signature touch. I often think of your wedding theme as showcasing and branding a part of your personality for your big event.
An exercise that I often recommend to brides to do is take a piece of paper and write down the answers to the following questions:
-What is your favorite color?
-What are your interests and hobbies?
-What is your favorite book, movie, music, etc.?
-What types of foods or desserts do you enjoy?
-Is there a story behind how you met your fiancé?
-What is your favorite place to visit?
Whatever you wrote on the piece of paper – Look at it! Study it! The theme you want is starring right back at you!!
You can also discuss what you have written down with your closest friends and family members to see what they think. Sometimes the people around you notice things about you that you may have never even thought of. Then, when you are ready to begin planning your big day and feel that you have gathered enough information about yourself and your fiancé, contact an invitation designer and/or wedding planner who will help you to finalize and bring your theme to life. As an invitation designer, we meet with our clients and help them bring the paper side of their event to life. We can create your design based on whether it is photo, an unique item or you need an unique design for a monogram. We offer phone, email or in studio consultations. Feel free to contact us at 866-611-1651 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Remember, you may need a few weeks to gather information for your theme, so give yourself enough time to plan. This is just the first step, but it is the most exciting element of your wedding that will make it memorable.
